§ 11-21. Cash bonds.

  • In lieu of confinement pending appearance in municipal court, any person accused of a crime or of violating a city ordinance or provision of this Code, shall be entitled to provide a cash appearance bond unless:

    (1)

    Such person is accused of a felony.

    (2)

    Such person has been arrested upon the lawful request of another jurisdiction.

    (3)

    In the opinion of the chief of police, or in his absence, the shift commander, determined from the nature of the charge against such person and the facts involved with the arrest that such person would be dangerous to the safety of the public or was likely to do violence to another person or persons if released from custody.
