§ 14-1. Definitions.

  • As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the respective meanings ascribed to them:

    Domestic waste (garbage) means all waste by-products such as meat, vegetable and food scraps, cans, bottles, paper, cardboard, rags and other such waste matter normally to be disposed of from residences and smaller businesses. This does not include trash, dirt, concrete, brick, rocks or building/construction debris or materials, furniture or appliances.

    Occupant or agent. Any person living in a dwelling unit which has separate kitchen facilities on any premises or operating a smaller business shall be deemed an occupant. Any person receiving the rent in whole or in part of any premises shall be deemed an agent.

    Premises means land, buildings or other structures, vehicles, watercraft or parts thereof, upon or in which waste is stored.

    Trash means yard wastes, such as weeds, grass and hedge trimmings, leaves, brush, tree limbs and similar items, which does not exceed four (4) feet in length. This does not include dirt, concrete, brick, rocks or building/construction debris or materials, furniture or appliances.
