§ 18-22. Gas, water and sewer bills; dates due and delinquent; discontinuance of service for nonpayment.

  • (a)

    Payment for gas, water and sewer service shall be due and payable to the finance department upon terms and billings as presently presented, or by changes announced to customers in writing sixty (60) days prior to the effective dates of such changes in due dates, cut off dates, and grace periods. Any person who fails to pay any such billing by the cut off date shall be subject to a penalty as specified in the fee schedule. Any person who has had a service cut off for nonpayment, and who desires to have the service reconnected, shall pay an additional fee as set forth in the fee schedule for such reconnection.

    (b)

    Any person who has not paid for gas, water and sewer service, and collection is instituted by the city or the city's collection agency shall be required to pay the aforesaid penalties, together with such collection fees and interest as are set forth in the fee schedule.
