§ 2-111. Qualifications of candidates; time; advertisement.

  • (a)

    At least two (2) weeks prior to the closing of qualification for an election for the office of city commissioner, the city commission shall by resolution fix and publish a qualification fee to be paid by candidates seeking election to such office. Such fee shall be paid to the election superintendent at the time candidate files his notice of candidacy. Such fee shall be three (3) percent of the annual salary of the office of city commissioner.

    (b)

    Qualifications of candidates for the office of city commissioner shall be within the time set forth in O.C.G.A. § 21-3-91(a)(1) and shall be for a period of five (5) working days ending at 12:00 noon of the fifth day.

    (c)

    The city commission shall cause to be advertised such qualifying fee or paupers affidavit and such qualifying time in a newspaper of general circulation in the city at least two (2) weeks prior to the closing of qualifications for the office of city commissioner.
